Another quick announcement today has come from Techland, who are showing off another video trailer in the Highlights series, for The Following – Enhanced Edition, expansion to the hugely popular Dying Light. This new video focuses on the new Nightmare Mode. A brutal new difficulty level not for the feint of heart and you can see why in the new trailer below.
“We’ve designed the Nightmare Mode for those seeking a really challenging and immersive experience. Nightmare Mode takes everything that was brutal in our Hard Mode and twists it even more. We’re trying to bring the Dying Light experience closer and closer to the feeling of a real apocalypse survival experience where every move you make can really determine if you live or die. We’ve added one bit of salvation though. Playing Nightmare Mode in co-op will earn you XP faster and increase your chance of finding gold tier weapons.” Producer Tymon Smektała. “
Nightmare Mode will see players battling against harder enemies, as well as being stripped of all overpowered Easter egg weaponry and also gives XP penalties if you happen to die in the field. There are some bonuses though, with extra gold weapons scattered throughout the levels as well as earning XP much faster (especially if you play as a team. No doubt it’s going to be a rough ride, but if this floats your boat you’ll find it included in Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced edition (which includes all content you get in the base game, and expansion, plus a little more),which will be launching February 9th 2016 for PC, Playstation 4. and Xbox One. If you already own the base game, the expansion (the Following) will also be included as a separate DLC.
