Dying Light: The Following is a massive expansion to Dying Light and the untold chapter of Kyle Crane’s story. Take the struggle to a vast new area that will transform your Dying Light experience through new game mechanics, environments and challenges on top of the established core of what made Dying Light a break away success for millions of players around the globe.
The new storyline takes place shortly after the final events of the original game as protagonist Kyle Crane and his group of survivors face both a new threat and new hope for salvation. The situation is bad, bad enough to force Crane into leaving the city walls and travel to a remote region taken over by a mysterious group whose intentions are not readily clear. The rumor of a way out turned out to be true, but does a potential cure really exist out here or is it all smoke and mirrors?
For the first time, you’ll go outside the quarantine zone to get a glimpse at how the outbreak has ravaged those beyond the walls of Harran. You’ll get thrust into a hazardous outback, overrun by the infected and populated by pockets of survivors who consider outsiders just as threatening. With a map the size of Old Town and The Slums combined, Dying Light: The Following is packed full of new environments, characters, quests, and secrets to discover. You’ll need to adapt quickly in order to survive while using entirely new gameplay mechanics and tactics not previously possible in Dying Light to gain the upper hand.
Avoid the zombie hordes, break pursuits and travel through the quarantine like never before. All-terrain dirt buggies are going to be your key tool to survival and getting around this hazardous countryside.
“Your buggy is going to be crucial to surviving out in the open, so we want to create an emotional connection between players and their ride,” explains producer Tymon Smektała. “On top of the lethal weapons and upgrades you’ll be able to add, there are a lot of cool paint jobs, a number of unmistakable bobble heads and little charms to put inside, so you can really make the buggy your own.”
Level up your new Driver Rank skill tree and upgrade your ride to create your most deadly and effective weapon yet. Fully customisable with specialised weapons, attachments, decals and paint jobs, your buggy is going to be your one-way ticket to zombie smashing mayhem. Upgrade your four-wheeled weapon with such lethal add-ons as flamethrowers, UV headlights, ramming bars, and more. Customise your buggy with more than 40 unique paintjobs and distinctive accessories and even modify the build with better suspension, engine, brakes and other parts that will improve the buggy’s performance.
Dying Light: The Following will be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 9th, 2016. The expansion will be available as downloadable content (priced $19.99, €19.99, £15.99), as part of the Season Pass, and as part of Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition.
