Deep Silver have today announced the new “Resistance Mode” for the fairly imminent Homefront: The Resistance title with a snazzy new Freedom fighters gameplay trailer, as well as offering Beta access exclusively to North American Xbox One players.
The Revolution has been something on our to Watch list since the first trailer was shown back in August of last year, and it looks to have come a long way since. As well as 30+ hours of single player campaign, Resistance Mode is a brand new four-player online co-op experience, guaranteed to excite those who enjoy team-focused solutions. Form a reistance cell with your friends online and take part in guerrilla warfare against the KPA occupying force in story-driven missions across war torn Philadelphia.
“Homefront: The Revolution is this team’s most ambitious project yet. In addition to our epic 30-plus hour single-player campaign, we expect to launch Resistance Mode with 12 Missions, packed with re-playability, and hope to release another 20 Missions within the first year. To ensure our community can always play together, all Resistance Mode Missions will be free to download.” – Hasit Zala, Game Director @ Dambuster Studios.
Homefront: The Revolution will be available for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox one and has a release date set for May 17th in the US and May 20th in all other territories, but if you are in North America you can register to join the exclusive Xbox One Closed Beta NOW by heading to the Homefront website. The Beta will run from February 11th to 14th and registered members of the Homefront community may be selected to take part in stress testing on January 29th and February 5th.
All pre-orders of the game will (as is standard these days) receive a bonus pack, in this case the “Revolutionary Spirit” pack which includes a motorcycle skin, pistol skin, a Marskman Rifle (plus score) and remote explosives. the pack is also available for purchase without preordering and the items can be unlocked in game via regular play.
We’re promised that Homefront: The revolution will receive dedicated post-launch support as part of a program which will see the game receive major free content updates as well as Mac and Linux versions which are currently in development. If you haven’t seen the Freedom Fighters aspect of the game check it out in the video below, along with some quick flashes of weapon customization and co-operative gameplay.
