The team behind Rainbow Six Siege have revealed details ahead of the second major content update for the game.
Much like Operation Black Ice before it, Operation Dust Line features two new operators from a counter-terrorism unit. For this update, it will be Valkyrie (defense) and Blackbeard (offense) from the US Navy SEALs. Valkyrie will have access to deployable sticky cameras while Blackbeard will come equipped with a rifle and shield. Rainbow Six Siege Season Pass holders will get access to the new Operators the week of May 9.
Operation Dust Line is the second of four major content updates scheduled for the year. It comes after Operation Black Ice, which featured two new Operators from Canada’s Joint Task Force 2 – Frost and Buck – as well as the new Yacht map. Community developer, Justin Kruger ran through some of the details for Operation Dust Line, which was recently confirmed during the Rainbow Six Siege Xbox One Pro League Final.
“It’s a much different setting than Season One, which was cold and dark and isolated, but now we’re going to the Middle East. It’s going to be a little more chaotic… Season Two we have Valkyrie, and with these new operators we’re introducing a lot of new things. We’re introducing a new CTU, these are the Navy Seals, Valkrie is a defence operator and she’s a equipped with a Spas 12, she has deployable stick cameras which you’ll be able to throw to any part of the map. Blackbeard is equipped with a tactical armoured shield, he’s an aggressive point man, he does have a Desert Eagle.”
A new map is also coming with this latest DLC but we’ve yet to see any more information on this from Ubisoft.
