Another E3 trailer coming out of the woodwork today, and this one will be of interest to any admirers of H.P. Lovecraft’s most famous (or infamous) creation. Call Of Cthulhu is the official video game adaptation of Chaosium’s pen and paper RPG, and is currently looking to release in 2017, but it’s looking far from awful even now.
The title sees you as Edward Pierce, former veteran turned private investigator in 1920s Boston. Investigating the tragic and mysterious death of Sarah Hawkins and family on Darkwater Island, your travels will take you through the disturbing refuge, and through the eerie Hawkins’ Family Mansion, showcased in the trailer below. It’s safe to say, ad you may expect from a lovecraftian mystery adventure, the intensity of the investigation may soon start chipping away at your very soul.
Insanity and Cthulhu are cetainly no stranger to one another, and as you creep slowly towards Our Lord And Master’s sphere of influence, the difference between reality and illusion will not always be easy to decipher, but they do say that madness is the only way that can bring you the truth.
One of the largest shared universes every created, the Cthulhu mythos has given brith to countless classic works since the original publication. It’s too early to tell exactly how this one will turn out, but our money is on this one being a cracker. We can confirm at the moment that the title will be coming to Xbox One and Playstation 4 as well as the PC in our first look at the game, but for now, enjoy the new trailer…
