http://theinloop.com/members/quyenfreese63/activity/groups/ Today Respawn Entertainment and EA have announced an official date for their open technical testing period. Tests will be available to any players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One across two weekends in August, and fans will be able to get in game from August 19th with two new maps and multiplayer modes.
Gamers will be able to delve into both Bounty hunting (5v5) and Pilots (8v8) modes, each of which will bring it’s own take on the classic Titanfall gameplay. Bounty Hunting will pit players and their teammates against the opposing gamers as well as the Remnant Fleet. Earn bonuses by killing grunts and enemies, but ensure you bank your points in between each wave, move it or lose it.
You’ll also be able to experience a Pilots only mode, in 8 vs 8 gameplay, putting your combat and mobility to the test without the help of your trusty Titans.
The two maps have their own feel as well. Boomtown will take you to a secret underground IMC facility, where the latest in R&D is put to the test. With peaked roofs up above, and tight lanes below, it looks like there might be a little strategy to use here, if you play it right. Homestead will give a good mix of cover for pilots, with caves, rocks and trees providing protection from Titans, who will definitely control the spacious rolling fields
For the second week of testing, another map and another mode will be added to the mix, with Amped Hardpoint (6v6) a new twist on Hardpoint domination giving you amplification for controlling a hardpoint, doubling your score. Forward Base Kodai is the new map for week two, and an IMC substation with hallways and chambers of the main building a solace for Pilots, watch out for Titans up above as they take to the roof!
during the open tech testing, players will have access to two all new Titans, Ion and Scorch, as well as a wide range of pilot abilities including Grapple, Holo Point and Pulse Blade. There will also be a fair range of weapons incl using the Mastiff, a horizontal spread shotgun, and the Alternator, a dual barrel SMG.
Titanfall is of course out on the 28th of October this year, and fans of the first title are being invited to help ensure servers are stable before release, and possibly have a little fun along the way.
