As you may have seen we’ve been hands on fairly recently with both Cities Skylines, and Planetbase. We’ve had a great time with these both in their own right, however Mars may be about to get a whole heap of upgrades.
Paradox Interactive have announced today that they will be heading to the Red Planet in 2018 with Surviving Mars for Pc, Mac, Linux, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Teaming up with Haemimont Games, an independent developer known best in this area for working on several titles in the Tropico series, we’re looking forward to seeing what they have to offer.
Surviving Mars will challenge players to plan and build a fully functioning and self sustaining colony on Mars, balancing the inhabitant’s basic needs as well as quality of life.
Similar to Planetbase it looks like there will be meteors and other events which can make your life a little harder, and with every colonist vital to your survival, you’ll have to do what you can to keep them all working hard, and happy.
Starting with rovers and supply drops, you’ll need to work just to get your first colonists down on the surface, working of course towards sprawling colonies and generations who’ve never seen Earth.
To take the first small step towards landing on Mars, players can sign up now for upcoming news and community activities around Surviving Mars. Eager settlers can find details over at http://www.survivingmars.com/
