It’s about that time of the year once again, and we’re happy to unveil the Pixel Bandits Top Ten of 2017. It’s been massively hard to whittle the list down to just ten this year, though with a number of… let’s call them “discussions”… in the PB offices, we’ve managed to get the following down on paper

02 | Speedrunners | DoubleDutch Games | TinyBuild Games |
03 | For Honour | Ubisoft Montreal | Ubisoft |

It’s been a funny old year, and it’s been another which for us has seen a huge rise in independent or smaller studios, leaving the triple A titles a little out in the cold. A few honourable mentions really have to take place and we’ve had great fun this year with an awfully large number of titles.
We’ve gone through the mills with the puzzle platformer Black: The Fall. We’ve blasted our way through the brutal platformer Rise & Shine. We’ve spent nights alone in space with Prey, and out in the wilds in The Long Dark. We’ve built cities on strange planets with Aven Colony and Planetbase.
We’ve spent hours pretending we’re tactical in Fortnite, and even longer actually being stealthy with Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, and we’ve spent countless time warping about a skyscraper with Mr Shifty.
It’s been a funny old year, and while we’ve enjoyed the triple A titles of course, this year has really seen the smaller studios shining through and we’re looking forward to seeing what’s next for them in 2018. Keep up with all the news and reviews here, continuing this year and of course carrying on through 2018.
